Match Format
Matches are over 18 single hole grass greens. A white line denotes the starting place on each green and every hole has a pin in the cup denoting its number. The Pins remain in the holes at all times. The fixtures list sets out the dates of matches on the Bunker and Plain Greens, and denotes which Team is Home and Away. The Home Team Player in both single and doubles have the first stroke on each Hole. Competing Players play alternate shots (the order of play is not decided by the nearest ball the hole after each shot). Two Teams compete each Match. Their Captains decide the playing order 1 ~ 6 for the six players to contest the Singles on the match night and also of up to 9 players attending, which three pairs shall contest the Doubles, and enter their names on the Score sheet against their playing positions. The six singles matches are played before the 3 doubles matches. Each player is given a Scorecard to record both their own and their opponents score per hole. In both Singles and Doubles a tally is taken after 9 holes and the Players confer to agree totals at that point. A final tally is taken after 18 holes, the players confer and agree their total score as recorded on the scorecard. The Players with the lowest total number of shots have won. If the scores are level their match is a tie. The Players pass their Scorecards to their Captain who records the scores on the Results Sheet. Each Singles/Doubles Match won scores 1 point and a draw scores 0.5 point. The Team total for the overall Match is recorded on the Scoresheet, which is signed by Captains and the Home Captain places it the Results Box at the Venue. The Results Secretary records Players scores and there are awards for lowest score on each Green per season.
On average a Match starting at 7pm would be concluded by 8:30pm.
